Kurkovitsi, a country estate

Kurkovitsi, a country estate in the Volosovo District (near the village of Kurkovitsi). From 1808 A.I. Briskorn owned the village of Kurkovitsi. Originally the estate was small with a wooden manor-house and service constructions. From 1831 the estate of Kurkovitsi was owned by E.M. Perevoshchikova. From 1846 the estate was owned by the collegiate councillor A.Ya. Afanasyev who made the good-quality estate on the plot with square 9 desyatinas. In the estate centre there was a stone three-storied building, from the yard side there were dwelling wings, stables, a cattle yard, coach-house, ice-house, sheds, kitchen-gardens, a fruit garden, hotbeds. After the Afanasyevs Kurkovitsi estate was owned by A.I. Kuklin and his heirs (1882-1897). During 1897-1900 Kurkovitsi estate was owned by E.N. Depp who repaired the manor-house and wings, laid on water-supply. In the early 20th century Depp's widow began to sell single plots of the estate. Stone buildings, the pond, old plantations are survived till present days.
