Zhuravlyovo, village
Zhuravlyovo, villageThe first mention of Suglitsky Pogost, close to which is today’s Z., is dated later 15th c. In the 2nd half of the 16th c., landowners of a Kazan Tartar origin were granted land in that area. Until 1763 there was the Monastery of St. Nicholas with a wooden church. In 1830, a five-domed stone Resurrection church with eight altars was built at the pogost, which is unique for a village church (survived up to these days.) The village is street-planned. It has a culture center and a library. Authors
