“LUGA-FILM”, film-studio (1,Naberezhnaya str.,Luga Town), culture institution under local authorities. It exists since 1981, in 1990 the studio acquired a current status. It consists of several public creative teams: film and video studio “Luga Film”, children’s animation studio “Multik” (“Cartoon”), children’s studio “Kinoakter” (“Film Actor”), children’s fashion theatre “Stilny Klass” (“Stylish Class”), children’s vocal studio “Vesnushky” (“Freckles”) and recording studio. Founders and creative directors are Popov V.M. and Yevdokimova N.A. The main purpose of “Luga Film” film-studio is to teach the basics of photo, film and video making and creative works production. Special attention is paid to work with children and teenagers. “Luga Film” studio has produced more than 300 films as well as videos and TV programs for the Leningrad Oblast TV Company (LOT) and local TV – documentaries, feature films, cartoons, reportings, videos, etc. Several times “Luga Film” studio has become a winner of different home and foreign contests and festivals; it was awarded 117 prizes including 75 international ones. The studio organized a number of international festivals: “Luzhskiye Kinoposidelky” (“Film Viewing in Luga Town”), young authors’ video forum, festival of Czech and Russian visual art “Most Druzhby” (“Bridge of Friendship”) (2000), festival of children’s audio and video creative works “Nadezhda” (“Hope”) (2003 and 2004). The studio has held 17 exhibitions of amateur photographers and artists in Luga Town and some other towns in the Leningrad Oblast.
